With a tubus carrier you are prepared for anything. Made from robust steel or ultra-light titanium, the carriers offer maximum stability and durability – even when the terrain becomes rough, regardless of the climate zone. A 30-year guarantee (unfortunately we are not allowed to offer more for legal reasons) and our worldwide mobility guarantee make tubus the perfect choice for anyone who needs to rely on their equipment when travelling. A kind of “travel insurance” – only made of metal. Of course, we also complete our portfolio with luggage carriers for the front, which do not compromise on quality and durability.
CarriersTITANIUM OR STAINLESS STEEL
At tubus, we use the highest quality, most durable and efficient materials for our carriers. Here is a brief overview of the materials we use:
5CrMo4
Chrome-molybdenum steel. Is often used where it really matters: In car and aircraft construction. And for many of our carriers. This is because our ChroMo not only offers an enormous tensile strength of over 700 N/mm², but also the best welding properties. And we then turn this into the best carrier properties.
Often referred to as rustproof. But because we like to be very precise with our materials, we prefer to say: corrosion-resistant steel. Under extreme conditions, even one of our stainless steel carriers could develop a little rust film in places. And then? A little polish and it shines again. For its whole life cycle. Completely without coating. That’s why so many people say “stainless”.
Titanium
Titanium is used wherever absolutely low weight and high strength need to be combined – for example in space travel. Titanium is resistant to most organic acids and alkalis, to dilute hydrochloric and nitric acid and to corrosion. At least at temperatures of up to 880°C, which makes our titanium carriers the functional ultimate for tours from the Arctic Circle to Death Valley.
QUALITY AND GUARANTEE
Our test technicians rattle and shake every tubus carrier in accordance with ISO 11243:2023 until it is ready for the market. And beyond: For gravel tracks and cobblestone pavements.
